Manage entitlements
On the Entitlements tab in 10Duke SysAdmin, you create and manage the entitlements that hold an organization’s licenses or a user’s personal licenses.
An organization can have multiple entitlements if needed. A user can have one personal entitlement.
An entitlement is also automatically created if an organization or user doesn’t have one yet when you grant licenses.
See how to view entitlements and the licenses each one contains.
Create an entitlement
Before you start:
- Entitlements are specific to an organization or user, so make sure the organization has been created or the user has a user account.
To create an entitlement for an organization or a user:
-
In SysAdmin in the left sidebar, go to LICENSES > either Organization or Personal.
-
Search and select the organization or user, and click Confirm.
-
Go to the Entitlements tab and select Actions > Create. A dialog opens.
-
In Name, define a name for the entitlement.
-
In Description (optional), write a short description.
-
Click Save to create the entitlement.
Next steps:
-
If you created an entitlement for an organization:
-
If the organization has multiple entitlements, you can change the new entitlement to be the default one if needed.
-
Authorize the organization’s groups to access the entitlement.
-
-
You can grant licenses into the new entitlement.
In the case of an organization, you can also move existing licenses to the new entitlement.
Change an organization’s default entitlement
When you grant licenses to an organization, they are by default created in the organization’s default entitlement.
To change an organization’s default entitlement:
-
In SysAdmin in the left sidebar, go to LICENSES > Organization.
-
Search and select the organization and click Confirm.
-
Go to the Entitlements tab, select the entitlement, and select Actions > Set as default.
Move an organization license to another entitlement
If an organization has multiple entitlements, you can move a license from one entitlement to another.
If the license has seat reservations or blocked seats, those are carried over to the new entitlement.
Before you start:
-
Moving a license may change the access rights to the license: it can only be accessed by the groups authorized to access the new entitlement.
We recommend that you first review that group access to the new entitlement is correct for the license you’re about to move.
To move a license:
-
In SysAdmin in the left sidebar, go to LICENSES > Organization.
-
Search and select the organization and click Confirm.
-
Go to the Entitlements tab and select the entitlement that contains the license.
-
Go to the Licenses tab, select the license, and select Actions > Move license. A dialog opens.
-
Select the entitlement where you want to move the license and click Move.
Edit an entitlement
To edit the entitlement of an organization or a user:
-
In SysAdmin in the left sidebar, go to LICENSES > either Organization or Personal.
-
Search and select the organization or user, and click Confirm.
-
Go to the Entitlements tab, select the entitlement, and select Actions > Edit.
-
Edit the name and description in the same way as when creating an entitlement.
-
Click Save.
The changes take effect immediately.
