Authorize groups to access organization licenses
With organization licenses, you authorize users and device clients to consume them by using user groups and device client groups.
On the Entitlements tab in 10Duke SysAdmin, grant and remove group access to entitlements that hold the licenses.
You can then invite users and device clients to authorized groups to give them access to the licenses. Similarly, you can remove users and device clients from groups to remove their access to licenses.
View which groups have access to an entitlement
To view which user groups or device client groups have access to the licenses in an organization’s entitlement:
-
In SysAdmin in the left sidebar, go to LICENSES > Organization.
-
Search and select the organization and click Confirm.
-
Go to the Entitlements tab and select the entitlement.
-
Go to Authorized consumers > either User groups or Device client groups.
Each tab lists all of the organization’s user groups or device client groups. In the Has access column, a green icon indicates that the group has access to this entitlement.
In User groups, you also have shortcuts for creating, editing, and deleting user groups using the Actions menu options. See more information on creating and deleting user groups.
Note that if you create a user group here, it’s not automatically granted access to this entitlement.
Grant access to groups
Before you start:
- Make sure the necessary user groups and device client groups have been created for the organization.
To grant user groups or device client groups access to an entitlement’s licenses:
-
In SysAdmin in the left sidebar, go to LICENSES > Organization.
-
Search and select the organization and click Confirm.
-
Go to the Entitlements tab and select the entitlement.
-
Go to Authorized consumers > either User groups or Device client groups.
-
Select the groups to grant access to, and select Actions > Grant access.
The members (users or device clients) in the selected groups can now start consuming the licenses.
Remove access from user groups
When you remove a group’s access to an entitlement, the users or device clients in the group lose access to the licenses, and any seat reservations made for them are released (unless they belong to another group that allows them access to the same licenses).
To remove access to an entitlement’s licenses from user groups or device client groups:
-
In SysAdmin in the left sidebar, go to LICENSES > Organization.
-
Search and select the organization and click Confirm.
-
Go to the Entitlements tab and select the entitlement.
-
Go to Authorized consumers > either User groups or Device client groups.
-
Select the groups to remove access from, and select Actions > Revoke access.
If a user or device client is currently consuming an organization license they no longer have access to, they are able to continue consuming the license until the license lease expires or the client application tries to refresh the lease, whichever comes first.
